Summary

The project involved the task to replace an at grade intersection with a multi-level interchange of two major arterial roads in Sydney’s north west, including the removal and relocation of public utilities, water, gas and communications, liaison with the community and road users and the construction of a four lane overpass with associated roadwork.

Scope of Work

Arenco was engaged for the removal of one set of traffic lights and connecting the new M7 to Old Windsor Road through the construction of the underpass bridge and retaining wall structure.

Project works included major services relocations, landscaping, permanent lighting, hydraulic, stormwater, communication and gas services. Works also included the slip forming of ‘F type’ jersey kerbs with two galvanised traffic barrier railings fixed on top.

Significant Achievements

Successfully relocated all major public utilities, whilst maintaining supply to customers.

Frequent traffic changes were put in place to accommodate staged construction with minimal impact on traffic because of the early notice given to drivers and the extra attention given to the delineation of traffic routes through the site.
