Summary

Design and construction upgrade of the existing station comprising of platform upgrades to accommodate accessible paths including platform resurfacing and tactile indicators, boarding assistance zones on both platforms, new Family Accessible Toilet, new IMSB and electrical works, new platform LED lighting, tactiles and new signage.  

Scope of Work

Arenco was responsible for all the design and construction works to the station which involved the construction of BCA/DDA compliant BAZ waiting areas on both platforms with localised platform widening including canopy.

The station carpark was upgraded with the addition of 14 car parking spaces, including one accessible and one kiss and ride car space.

New pathways were provided from the car park to the station to provide accessible access to the station entry. The existing platform building was upgraded with a new unisex toilet and a family accessible toilet.

Significant Achievements

Collaboration with local Aboriginal artists to construct perforated screens within the platform waiting areas, reflecting the Aboriginal landscape within the area.

Engaging with local community facilitating a tree planting day at the nearby Hawkesbury Riding Club as part of the Greater Sydney Landcare Network initiative to plant 100,000 trees to increase tree canopy and green cover across Greater Sydney

Successfully worked in all areas whilst keeping full access to pedestrians and operation without interruption to rail staff, commuter or pedestrian movements and despite COVID-19 restrictions during construction.
