Design and construction upgrade of the existing station comprising a new footbridge to access the island platform, new lift structures, walkways and canopies, new HV and LV supplies, services upgrades, platform resurfacing and wayfinding signage. External works included a new car park, transport interchange upgrade through new road alignments, paving, streetscapes, bus shelters and landscaping improvements.

Scope of Work

Oatley Railway Station is one of the stations upgraded through the Transport Access Program to provide a better experience for public transport customers by delivering accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure.

The project involved upgrade works to the existing station precinct including the provision of a new link bridge, 3 new lifts, platform improvements, new entry forecourts and general beautification works, power upgrades and a new 2 level car park.

Arenco was responsible for all design and construction works relating to the upgrade works including provision of the footbridge to allow access for the new lifts, new lift structures, new walkways and canopies, new HV and LV supplies including padmounts, services upgrades, platform resurfacing and new wayfinding signage.

External works included transport interchange redevelopment to improve accessibility for buses and commuter kiss and ride through new road realignments, paving, streetscapes, bus shelter and landscaping improvements.

Significant Achievments

Dealt with sensitive heritage surroundings with existing structures and the environment, including overhanging trees that were listed and protected.

Successfully worked in areas with difficult or restricted access subject to live rail and commuter movements.

Met major construction milestones whilst addressing discovery and preservation of unexpected subterranean heritage elements.
