Urban railways need stations at which passengers can access the system and a range of logistical infrastructure to permit the efficient operation and maintenance.
Arenco is undertaking this role from immeasurable knowledge due to years of rail facility construction, playing a vital role in the urban landscape, building public places of aesthetic significance and providing local communities solutions for safe and easy access.
Arenco was responsible for all design and construction works relating to the upgrade works including major structural demolition, rebuilding to provide covered bus interchange, new lifts, new lift structures, new walkways and canopies, new amenities, existing station building refurbishment, HV electrical undergrounding, services upgrade, platform resurfacing and new wayfinding signage.
External works included new electrical supply and removal of existing overheads, stormwater amplification, road realignments, relocation of traffic lights, restoration and relocation of a heritage listed timber ticket office to facilitate the other station improvements and the upgrade of Station Street services and finishes for the station entrance to Platform 2.
Overcame previously unidentified services that hindered the construction of lift structures and external works.
Successfully worked in areas with difficult access and limited site space that was adjacent to existing station structures and live rail conditions.
Met major construction milestones despite unexpected rail and utility services discoveries during critical stages of the project.
