Arenco constructed a new multi-storey car park adjacent to Campbelltown Railway Station for Campbelltown City Council, valued at $21 million. The structure replaces a portion of the existing at-grade commuter carpark, delivering 500+ car spaces to support one of the fastest growing regions in Australia. The project provides lasting transport infrastructure for the local community while complementing the station's existing commuter network.
Arenco was responsible for all construction works, including close coordination with the existing design consultants. Funded by the federal government, this community improvement project delivered a new five-storey car park with 508 car spaces, equitable access via two lifts and four stairwells.
Embracing sustainable development, the project incorporates a rooftop solar panel array with associated battery storage, EV charging provisions and rainwater tanks for water reuse.
Decorative architectural façade screens, a light void, and well-conceived landscaping and paving create a welcoming experience for commuters and the wider community.
Ongoing liaison with the design team to assist in developing the IFC design and additional embellishments resulted in a high-quality outcome for the Campbelltown community.
The project features an impressive sustainability package; an 88kW (176-panel) solar system powering the car park during the day, two rainwater tanks collecting and reusing water for irrigation, and a rainwater garden.
Despite challenges from external authorities and design development issues, Arenco successfully navigated all obstacles to deliver the project on time, to the satisfaction of the client and stakeholders.
